| The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) adds an exception for portable conveyors used in aggregate industry operations, and manufactured before 2010, from the requirement that each commercial motor vehicle (CMV) be equipped with brakes acting on all wheels, provided certain conditions are satisfied. This final rule responds to a petition for rulemaking from the Michigan Aggregates Association. The exception will provide relief from a regulatory requirement for certain portable conveyors without impacting safety.Effective 23 March 2026.
