The Bangladesh Trade Portal (BTP) is an official source of all regulatory information relevant to traders who wish to import goods into Bangladesh or export to other countries. The Ministry of Commerce of the Bangladesh Government has established the Portal in order to improve the predictability and transparency of the country’s trading laws and processes.

Egypt: The Egyptian Standard ES 1781 "Safety requirements for household and similar electrical appliance – General requirements" 

Products covered: Domestic safety (ICS 13.120), Domestic electrical appliances in general (ICS 97.030).This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 246 /2025 (5 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a twelve-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1781 "Safety requirements for household and similar electrical appliance- General requirements" (267 pages, in Arabic).It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 171/2020 (2 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/233/Add.1 dated 4 June 2020 mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/233 dated 12 November 2019 and G/TBT/N/EGY/233/Add.2 dated 18 December 2024. Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with modification with IEC 60335-1:2020.Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.Proposed date of adoption: 11 August 2025.Proposed date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.Agency or authority designated to handle comments and text available from:National Enquiry Point
